Educating Yourself On How Hypnosis Works And How To Hypnotize Anyone

Hypnosis is one of the oldest healing techniques practiced in different cultures around the world. It requires that the patient to be in a trance like state. We do not truly understand how hypnosis works but there are some theories of how the brain acts during hypnosis. There are various ways of hypnotizing a person, learning how to hypnotize a person is not that difficult.

Psychologists today use hypnosis as their basis for intervention styles. Being hypnotized enables a person to increase their ability to relax both mentally and physically. The communication between the conscious and subconscious minds is intensified when in this state.

Scientists are still unsure as to the mechanics of hypnosis, they do however know how the brain works while a person is in a hypnotic state. The left side of the brain that is accountable for analysis, synthesis and judgment shuts down. The right side, which is the visual side, becomes attentive. The subconscious mind becomes alert and the conscious mind retreats. With the subconscious mind in control, the person can easily adjust their physical and behavioral state.

Hypnotized people are in a heightened mental state of mind. The person’s subconscious mind is highly open to suggestion but this does mean they lose their free will or moral judgment. Studies have shown that they actually become aggressive problem solvers.

Hypnotizing a person is not hard but they must be willing to be put into that altered state. Here are the steps to follow to quickly put someone in a hypnotic trance. Have the person lie down, talk to them in a slow, calming tone. Ask them to take deep breathes and to relax every part of their body. Coach them by saying “I want you to feel your legs, can you feel them, good now relax them.” Always use positive reinforcement as you witness them relaxing each body part.

Some people will take longer to be put in a hypnotic state. When they are, you will be able to tell because their breathing may change constantly, their arms or fingers may twitch or their eyes might flutter. Once you can confirm they have been hypnotized you can make suggestions for them to follow. When you are ready to bring them out of the trance just begin to count backwards and tell them to wake up when you reach a certain number. Hypnotizing people is that easy if you follow these few steps describing how to hypnotize someone.
